Waterborne pathogens PCR panel

Test code: P0041 - Qualitative detection and differentiation of the following common waterborne pathogens using real time PCR protocols:

PCR testing is faster and more cost-effective than culture-based testing for these pathogens. Zoologix performs this test panel using well-established, highly specific, ultrasensitive real time PCR protocols to minimize the possibility of false positives while maximizing detection of pathogens present.

Test results are presented in a concise, signed, easy-to-read PDF report optimized for documentation and recordkeeping.

Utilities:

  • Test for pathogens in water systems
  • Monitor for infectious diseases in bodies of water
  • Early prevention of the spread of pathogens in facilities or bodies of water
  • Help confirm the presence of disease-causing agents
  • Selection of appropriate treatment regimens
  • Minimize human exposure to the listed pathogens
  • Safety monitoring of biological products

Specimen requirements: Approx 10 ml water sample, or used filter medium, or 3 biofilm swabs.

Contact Zoologix if advice is needed to determine an appropriate specimen type for a specific diagnostic application. For specimen types not listed here, please contact Zoologix to confirm specimen acceptability and shipping instructions.

For all specimen types, if there will be a delay in shipping, or during very warm weather, refrigerate specimens until shipped and ship with a cold pack unless more stringent shipping requirements are specified. Frozen specimens should be shipped so as to remain frozen in transit. See shipping instructions for more information.

Turnaround time: 3 business days

Methodology: Qualitative real time polymerase chain reaction

Normal range: Nondetected
