Rodent infestation PCR panel

Rodent infestation test panel

Test code: P0057 - Rodent infestation panel. Includes ultrasensitive qualitative real time PCR detection and differentiation of the following common rodentborne pathogens using real time PCR protocols:

PCR testing is faster and more cost-effective than culture-based testing for these pathogens. Zoologix performs this test panel using well-established, highly specific, ultrasensitive real time PCR protocols to minimize the possibility of false positives while maximizing detection of pathogens present.

Test results are presented in a concise, signed, easy-to-read PDF report optimized for documentation and recordkeeping.

Utilities:

  • Check for these rodent borne pathogens in contaminated facilities, buildings, soil, ventilation systems, or goods
  • Selection of appropriate remediation regimens
  • Check for post-remediation absence of these pathogens
  • Early prevention of the spread of these pathogens in facilities
  • Help minimize human exposure to these pathogens

Specimen requirements: 1 rodent fecal pellet, or environmental surface swab (cotton or synthetic tip) or swipe pad (approx 2" x 2"), or 2 ml of soil

Contact Zoologix if advice is needed to determine an appropriate specimen type for a specific diagnostic application. For specimen types not listed here, please contact Zoologix to confirm specimen acceptability and shipping instructions.

For all specimen types, if there will be a delay in shipping, or during very warm weather, refrigerate specimens until shipped and ship with a cold pack unless more stringent shipping requirements are specified. Frozen specimens should be shipped so as to remain frozen in transit. See shipping instructions for more information.

Turnaround time: 3 business days

Methodology: Qualitative real time polymerase chain reaction

Normal range: Nondetected
